More Than 18,000 Fans Flock To Boardwalk Hall For Marc Anthony And Charlie Wilson Concerts Over Valentine's Day Weekend
POST-CONCERT SURVEYS INDICATE THAT CONCERTGOERS PROVIDED SIGNIFICANT BOOST TO LOCAL ECONOMY
Boardwalk Hall was the epicenter of Valentine’s Day entertainment in Atlantic City this past weekend, drawing more than 18,000 ticketholders into the city for concerts by Latin superstar Marc Anthony on Friday, February, 13, and R&B legend Charlie Wilson on Saturday, February 14.
The back-to-back concerts over the weekend showcase the diverse lineup of entertainment Global Spectrum has booked at the arena thus far in 2015, with 10 concerts booked and more to be announced in the near future. Friday’s Marc Anthony concert attracted more than 8,500 fans to see the Latin icon perform classic hits as well as newer material as part of his Cambio de Piel tour. After a quick changeover, Charlie Wilson took the stage Saturday night in front of more than 9,500 fans, performing in support of his newest album Forever Charlie.
Boardwalk Hall concertgoers contributed significantly to the local Atlantic City economy while in town for the events and a post-event survey sent to online ticket purchasers of both events indicated:
81% of ticketholders traveled more than 50 miles to attend the concerts, with 40% traveling more than 100 miles
63% of ticketholders dined at a local Atlantic City restaurant
56% of ticketholders stayed at an Atlantic City hotel
46% of ticketholders spent more than $200 during their time in Atlantic City outside of Boardwalk Hall on food, gambling, accommodations or retail
45% of ticketholders gambled in an Atlantic City casino
